Friendship
It was on this day that I evaluated my relationship with my friends from childhood to this day.
During my evaluation, I used the two local Zambian, commonly known sayings which are:- ukuangala kwachila ulupo (friendship is greater than blood relationship) this goes with the bible reading from Proverbs 18:24 ‘A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother’ and mezi amata mwa sikuka sauna (also blood is thinker than water in English).
Looking back in my life history, I have had many very good friends and same of which I used to feel there way as good as my blood brothers. While same some it was more like for batter for wise.( a wedding saying) the will be there for each other.
For now, I can easily say ‘friend came friend go’ this is very true because same of those good old friends, I no longer know there way about. The good thing on my part is that, I never fought with any of my friend, we might have had a quarrel once or twice but the used to be resolved (usually one could accept to be the loser and we would move on with our normal relationship)
The common reasons for those friends I left behind includes: -
Change of locations, life style and for a few we had to accept to go different way.
Today when look at friendship I put the bible reading from Proverbs 22:24-25 which says ‘Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, man lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare’. John 15:12-15 you and I have a greater friend in Jesus.

Keeping a friend

At this time a have noted that keeping a friend requires a number of a thing to be put in place, and includes:-

Adjusting one self to mate the other person’s desires

Creating time for the other person
At times even accepting what you may not understand, hoping to understand it in the near feature.
